Use your old smartphone as a trail camera. A modern smartphone already has almost everything to turn it to real trail camera:
- high quality camera
- embedded and replaceable memory
- cellular and WiFi modules for sending taken images
As a usual trail camera PhotoTrap takes photo or video at motion detector triggering, saves it on memory card and sends via cellular or WiFi to a user.
Programmatic motion detector or external hardware sensor can be used for motion detection. External sensor of any type (motion, door, smoke sensor, etc) is connected via
headset socket. Using of programmatic motion video-detector doesn't require any extra devices. It has indoor and outdoor working modes for providing the best performance.
In outdoor mode you arbitrarily set area of motion detection on the camera view thus excluding disturbing objects like swinging trees.
Photo or video can be manually requested via SMS or be automatically taken and sent with set periodic time interval due to time lapse feature.
